1871 is Chicago's entrepreneurial hub for digital startups. The 50,000-square-foot facility provides Chicago startups with programming, access to mentors, educational resources, potential investors and a community of like-minded entrepreneurs that help them on their path to building successful businesses. 1871 is the flagship project of the Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center (CEC). 1871 recently launched 1871 FEMtech, an incubator program to support the best women-founded businesses from across the nation and around the globe. The newest technology incubator to come to 1871 will be the veterans-operated, veteran-focused incubator 'The Bunker' in 2014. The Bunker will be run by Todd Connor, an Operation Iraqi Freedom Navy veteran and successful entrepreneur who recently led the city of Chicago's military high schools program. 1871 involves 350 Mentors,100 Partners, and 650+ Alumni.
