Created in 2001, the ACIN Camden Technology Center is America's first business accelerator dedicated to serving the needs of the Department of Defense. The program was designed to assist small companies in exploiting opportunities within the military by delivering products and services based on emerging technologies that meet an immediate need. The Center is part of a $50 million contract by the U.S. Army with Drexel University and Sarnoff Corporation. The ACIN Center occupies the entire 3rd floor, nearly 20,000 square feet, in the new EDA Waterfront Technology Center at Camden, providing a state-of-the-art flexible and modular office environment and a shared IT laboratory space. Prospective companies must offer products or services leverage-able for military or homeland defense applications and be in the areas of: telecommunications, wireless and mobile data applications; information assurance and network integrity; intelligent systems; C4ISR technologies; location awareness; network security, authentication and identification; wireless security; self-organizing networks; signal intelligence; knowledge management; sensors and surveillance; modeling and simulation; interoperability; data mining; and visualization.
