Allied Minds is a pre-seed investment company creating partnerships with key universities to fund corporate spin-offs resulting from successful early stage technology research. By providing corporate development support as well as finance, Allied Minds aims to guide early stage companies to commercial success. Allied Minds is capitalized and owned by international investors. It is not a manager of funds, and it earns its return on its ability to select and support worthwhile investments. The company invests in early stage opportunities based upon university research derived intellectual property (IP). The firm places no restrictions on the product, industry or service it will consider investing in. Allied is not sector specific and intends to build as diversified a portfolio as possible. However, all its investments will be early stage. Initially, Allied Mind's geographic investment focus will be the U.S., but depending on opportunities this could be expanded to a global network of partners and investments. To-date, they have raused more than $550M in capital, including $150M from its June 2014 IPO. Seed investments range from $250,000 to $1 million, and Series A investments from $5M to $10M.
