Launched in 2001 and based in San Francisco, Alpine Investors' objective is to invest in or acquire U.S. based companies with EBITDA $1-50 million. The firm's capital, $281 million under management, may be used to provide full or partial liquidity to entrepreneurs, family members, estates, passive investors or corporate owners. Alpine will also consider minority investments for growth. The firm has a particular interest in the following sectors: Alarm Monitoring, Consumer Products, Consumer Finance, Direct Marketing, For-Profit Education & Training, Gaming Equipment & Service, Insurance Brokers, Enterprise Software, Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs), Specialty Retailers, and Wealth Management. Alpine invests in companies with over $20 million in revenue. Alpine closed its fourth fund, Alpine Investors IV, LP and SBIC, LP, with $260 million of total committed capital, in January 2011.
