Andalusian Private Capital is a private capital firm backed by hedge fund manager David Tepper. According to Sports Business Journal and Bloomberg, Andalusian was "co-founded by one of Tepper's most trusted execs," Jeffrey Kaplan. Kaplan help orchestrate Tepper's $2.3B acquisition of the Panthers. Andalusian, with about $800M in assets, "will invest on behalf of Tepper and more than 10 family offices who are banding together to do their own transactions rather than committing capital to private equity firms." Andalusian's equity investments will range from $100-500M and focus on the sports industry. The firm shares New Jersey headquarters with David Tepper's hedge fund Appaloosa Management.
