Aster Capital is a leading energy and environment technologies focused venture capital firm founded in 2000. The firm is sponsored by Schneider Electric, Alstom and Solvay, global leaders in the energy and chemicals industries, and the European investment fund through the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme. With a total of $200 million under management, Aster aims to proactively leverage the expertise of these sponsors to support its portfolio companies in their further development. More than 20 companies were financed through their first fund, and Aster Capital is currently investing out of their second fund - Aster II - a $140M fund launched in 2010. The firm will primarily invest in early stage and opportunistically in seed and later stage investments throughout Europe, North America, Israel, and Asia. The firm provides all the necessary capital from €500k to €5M to launch and scale startups, as well as continuing to reinvest in each subsequent round until exit.
