Founded in 1998, The ATA is a private group of high net worth individuals that provides a platform for evaluating and selecting companies to fund. The ATA does not currently manage a fund or pool of money. Rather, investments are made by a handful of members interested in an opportunity. ATA Seed Fund I was raised in December of 2001 to address the downturn in the market. ATA usually invests between $200,000 and $2,000,000, between $50,000 and $100,000 as a seed investment. The firm does not invest in service companies, real estate, consulting companies or reverse mergers. All prospective companies are initially pre-screened by members before they are selected to present to a screening committee. If a firm is selected to present to a screening committee, the candidate should be prepared for a 10-15 minute overview presentation and a 10-15 minute Q&A session.
