Founded in 1980, Atlas Venture has organized seven international funds, and at one point managed over $2.0 billion in committed capital. The firm later divided into separate Life Sciences and Technology teams. The Life Sciences group retained the Atlas name. Atlas announced (June of 2017) it was raising $350 million for fund XI. Atlas Venture is now a leading biotech venture capital firm, and has been building breakthrough biotech startups since 1993. The firm's seed-led venture creation strategy rigorously selects and focuses investment on the most compelling opportunities to build scalable businesses and realize value.
