Belfer Management LLC in New York, NY, a family investment firm that emphasizes the energy, real estate, financial services and certain consumer-facing industries. Robert Belfer (born 1935) is an American oilman and philanthropist who is known for his stake in Enron and is the namesake of Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard Kennedy School. Bob Belfer was President of Belco Petroleum for 20 years and named Chairman in 1985. The company engaged in exploration and development of oil and gas in the United States, Peru and Canada. Its assets now form part of EOG Resources. In 1992, Bob founded Belco Oil & Gas Corp., a leading independent producer of domestic oil and gas, listed on the New York Stock Exchange. In 2001, Belco merged with another company and its assets are now part of Anadarko Petroleum.
