Formed in 2003, Benhamou Global Ventures invests and plays an active role in innovative high tech firms throughout the world. The firm is operated by Eric Benhamou, the former CEO of 3Com. BGV's accomplishments center on the creation and intelligent deployment of information technology towards improving the performance of businesses and non-profits, and the quality of life of individuals around the world. The firm invests Eric Benhamou's personal capital, and aims to offer entrepreneurs a real-time education in running a high-tech business along with funding. Benhamou Global Ventures maintains relationships with several Silicon Valley lenders and venture capital companies firms as well, including Accel Partners, Allegis Capital, and Northwest Venture Partners. BGV announced the first close of funding for BGV II LP May of 2014. The fund is focused on seed and early stage investing in enterprise technology including security, cloud-based services, web scale infrastructure, mobility and the emerging Internet of Things. Benhamou closed its third fund (June of 2017) with $80 million of investable capital. BGV has raised over one billion dollars in capital.
