Bloomberg Beta is a venture firm backed by Bloomberg L.P., with $150M under management. The firm is currently investing out of its first $75M fund and will soon begin investing out of a second fund of the same size. Bloomberg Beta invests in the early stages of a company. The firm focuses on investments in areas broadly of interest to Bloomberg L.P., but chooses companies independently and invests purely for financial return. Bloomberg Beta is not seeking out investments in financial services and prefers to invest in companies that are in proximity to San Francisco and New York.
