Founded in 1979, Boston Millennia Partners provides private equity financing to companies in the telecommunications, IT and Business Services, healthcare and life sciences industries. The firm's capital base exceeds over $700 million and its limited partners include investors from a dozen countries. The majority of the firm's investments are in early rounds, however Boston Millenia invests in companies at various stages of development, from the first round of institutional funding to later stage expansion opportunities. The firm seeks to invest up to $15 million in any single portfolio company. Typical first round investments range from $3 million to $10 million, with follow-on financings often doubling the original capital commitment. In select cases, Boston Millennia has made initial investments of as little as $1 million with the expectation that the fund will significantly increase its investment through later commitments. The firm invests throughout the U.S. and Canada but has a preference for companies located in the eastern U.S. Within the past twenty years, core companies in the firm's portfolio have completed over 160 strategic acquisitions. The firm targets companies with annual revenues of $3,000,000 or more and generally up to $30,000,000.
