BizTech (Business Technology Development Center) is a technology-focused, business Incubator designed to help small companies develop emerging technologies for the global marketplace. The Center provides mentoring, access to investors, training, a ready-made network of contacts, and an array of business support services designed to improve the likelihood of success of startup and developmental stage companies. Hosted companies must have: an entrepreneur as the focal point of the company; a scalable business that develops unique technology-based products or services for market segments such as life sciences, information technology, energy, and health care; and a product and/or service which is less than 24 months from market. BizTech is funded by both the public and private sectors. NASA/Marshall Space Flight Center, the Tennessee Valley Authority, Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs, and the City of Huntsville were the founding partners that provided BizTech with seed monies to get started. BizTech also receives support and monies from local individuals and businesses. Clients pay a low, affordable monthly fee for services beginning at $250 per month.
