Centaurus Capital is the family investment office for John Arnold. The firm invests in a broad array of sectors including industrials, energy, financials, and renewables. According to Forbes, Arnold is worth north of $3 billion. Until 2012, Mr. Arnold was founder and CEO of Centaurus Energy, a hedge fund primarily focused on trading energy commodities. Prior to founding Centaurus, he held various positions within Enron's Wholesale Division, including Head of Natural Gas Derivatives. Founded in 2010 by Laura and John Arnold, Arnold Ventures is a philanthropy dedicated to improving the lives of all Americans through evidence-based policy solutions that maximize opportunity and minimize injustice. Mr. Arnold serves on the boards of Breakthrough Energy Ventures, an investor-led venture capital firm dedicated to funding transformational technologies that will reduce global greenhouse gas emissions; Civica, Inc., a nonprofit generic pharmaceutical company; and The City Fund, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting new governance models in K-12 education.
