CEI, the Center for Entrepreneurial Innovation, is a community-based facility at GateWay Community College. With funding from the US Economic Development Agency, City of Phoenix and Maricopa Community College District, CEI provides targeted business services and proactive business support to create a systematic link between: Technology development; Compelling markets and opportunities; Entrepreneurial and managerial talent development; Early stage capital sourcing; and Education and training, interns, coaching and business counseling. The 18,000-square-foot facility, located in the Discovery Triangle on the GateWay Community College campus, is a mixed-use, non-retail business incubator. Focused market segments include: Bio, life-science; Clean Technology; Software; and Technology Services. Since 2013, the incubator has supported over 80 startups who have created 765 jobs, secured $117.5 million in capital, and generated more than $160 million in total gross revenue.
