Chevron Technology Ventures Investments (CTVI) identifies technology advances that could strengthen core operations and lead Chevron to new opportunities for growth. The firm scans the globe for companies with pioneering technologies that can yield strategic and financial value. CTVI also looks for firms that could enhance the way Chevron produces and delivers energy. CTVI works with select venture capital firms and also makes independent investments in areas such as information technology, oil and gas, emerging/alternative energy, advanced materials, communications and networking. The firm can invest in a company at any phase in the development cycle -- from providing early-stage seed investment to offering capital for full-scale commercialization. CTVI screens more than 400 opportunities per year and manage more than $250 million in strategic investments. Now in the seventh fund, the firm has invested in more than 100 companies with more than 150 other investors.
