The Chippewa Valley Angel Investors Network (CVAIN) began operating in April, 2003 to meet a need identified in the region by providing private equity financing potential for early stage and start-up entrepreneurial ventures in the greater Chippewa Valley. Supported by Momentum Chippewa Valley, the network is owned and operated by its member angel investors. It meets monthly to view presentations from businesses that have been pre-screened and invited to present. By the end of 2009 the CVAIN membership had invested over $3 million in seven early stage companies in the Chippewa Valley and surrounding region, including the Twin Cities and Madison. The Chippewa Valley Angel Investors Network is currently made up of 24 member investors. To date, the portfolio has not produced a harvest for the investors.
