    Description:

    Founded 1998, Clearstone has grown from a 2 person office in Pasadena, California to a multi-office firm with about 20 people and over $650 million of committed capital, 9 IPOs, and nearly a dozen M&A exits. The firm's $100 million first fund and $350 million second fund have invested in dozens of successful technology companies. Clearstone's Fund III had its final closing in April 2005. Clearstone pursues initial investments of between $1 million and $15 million, and will invest $10 to $30 million over the life cycle of a company's private capital needs. Focus industries include enterprise software, enterprise infrastructure, storage, communications, security, wireless, semiconductors, advanced optics, and both consumer & business Internet. Clearstone primarily provides seed and early round financing, but will occasionally make later round investments in highly successful technology companies that have already been backed by other venture capital firms in which Clearstone has had prior relationships with. Clearstone also maintains an office in Santa Monica.
