Dakota Capital is a private equity firm that invests in middle market manufacturing and service companies. Dakota targets companies with sales of $10 - $100 million located in the Continental U.S. The firm prefers opportunities in companies with trailing twelve month Earnings before Interest, Taxes and Owners Compensation (EBITO) in excess of 10% of revenue and greater than $2.5 million. Dakota focuses on manufacturing and service across a wide variety of industries, but does not invest in: retail, real estate (except as it relates to an operating company), natural resources, turnarounds, distressed companies or startups. The firm participates in the following types of transactions: recapitalizations, management buyout, generational changes of ownership and corporate divestitures. The firm provides all the capital for transactions under $50.0 million and all the junior capital for transactions over $50.0 million.
