The Energy Trust Partners funds (ETP) make private equity investments in the upstream sector of the oil and gas industry. ETP's objective is to realize substantial equity returns by investing with experienced management teams engaged in building oil and gas reserves through acquisition, exploitation, exploration and development drilling, and related activities. Individuals managing ETP have extensive experience investing in the oil and gas industry. Founded in 2002, the ETP funds have raised capital commitments in excess of $1.3 billion and invested in 36 portfolio companies with 27 realizations. The General Partner is now investing through its fifth fund, ETP V. ETP is managed by personnel affiliated with Energy Trust, LLC and the Energy Spectrum group. In addition to ETP, Energy Trust and its predecessors have invested approximately $2.0 billion directly in the oil and gas industry since 1981 on behalf of its institutional clients. Energy Trust Partners III, LP closed in 2008 with $460 million of equity capital. To date, the Fund has committed capital to three portfolio companies with activities focused in Texas and New Mexico. The Fund continues to seek new management teams and investments in the $25-$75 million range. The firm has an additional office in New York.
