Founded in 1989 by Roberto Buaron, First Atlantic Capital is a middle-market private equity firm that acquires middle-market companies, seeking to build them up to become market leaders. Since its inception, the firm has invested nearly $1 billion (including co-investments) in more than 70 acquisitions, assembling 22 successful platforms in various industries that include plastics and packaging, food and beverage, consumer and industrial products, and business services. In 2010, leveraging the real estate experience of its European partners, the firm broadened its focus to include real estate investments and created First Atlantic Real Estate, which has successfully made six investments -- primarily in residential properties in large metropolitan markets, such as New York City. The firm seeks to invest primarily in U.S. companies with enterprise values between $100 and $500 million, although it may also participate in larger or smaller transactions with unique growth and development characteristics. The principals collectively have over 30 years of consulting and 175 years of operating experience. The Company has developed a strong track record in the U.S. real estate market with investments in New York and the Midwest totaling over $300 million in acquisition and development costs.
