Based in Shelburne, VT, FreshTracks Capital manages more than $25 million in venture capital that is invested with a core focus on Vermont. FreshTracks draws on the financial resources and talents of over 120 limited partners. FreshTracks pursues investing opportunities in high-growth, private companies in the underserved capital markets of Vermont and the adjacent counties of New York, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The firm recently closed a $14 million fund, FreshTracks Capital II, LP. The fund's limited partners include Middlebury College, Vermont Public Radio, the Vermont Community Foundation and Merchants Bank. FreshTracks also manages FreshTracks I, an $11 million fund that closed in 2001. FreshTracks is an affiliate fund in the Village Ventures (see profile under Massachusetts) national network of funds, which collectively has more than $500 million in capital under management, directed by 35 venture professionals in 14 distinct funds. FreshTracks Capital announces the closing (June 2014) of FreshTracks III, its third venture capital fund raised since the firm was founded in 2000. This most recent Fund raised $11.5 million from 48 Limited Partners, and intends to invest in 10 - 15 companies over its 10-year life. FreshTracks is backed by a pool of limited partners and has completed more than 60 investments to date.
