Established in 2001, GI Partners is a trans-Atlantic private investment firm that focuses on control-oriented investments in asset-backed businesses and properties located in North America and Western Europe. The firm is active in a number of key sectors, including asset-backed IT services, specialty healthcare and education, leisure, commercial real estate, hospitality, energy, retail and financial services. Since inception, the firm has managed $17 billion of equity capital and is currently investing from its third fund. GI targets companies with enterprise value up to $2 billion and initial equity transactions up to $1.5 billion. GI's transactions include: Management buyouts, Platform investments/leveraged buildups, Management turnarounds, and purchases of direct assets or asset portfolios. The firm announced April 2014 that it closed GI Partners Fund IV at a $2 billion hard cap, beating its $1.5 billion target. GI Private Equity is actively investing GI Partners Fund V, a $2.8 billion fund raised in 2017.
