Although Golden Gate is a multi-sector fund and opportunistic in its approach, industry areas in which the firm has a particular interest include: Software and IT Services, Semiconductors, Consumer Products and Retail, Financial Services, Electronics and Media and others. Golden Gate's investment strategies are: leveraged buyouts, growth equity and build-ups/consolidations. Golden Gate is actively looking for new platform companies or add-on acquisitions for a number of their platform companies. Transaction sizes will range from $25M to greater than $1 billion. The firm's typical investment has an equity requirement between $20 and $80 million, but Golden Gate has the capability to quickly commit in excess of $200 million of equity in special situations.
