Founded 2012, Gopher Angels is a group of accredited investors who are passionate about creating businesses in Minnesota. Gopher Angels is industry-agnostic. The group prefers companies that are Minnesota-based, eligible for MN Angel Tax Credit and raising $50,000 - $1,000,000. For companies raising more than $1,000,000, GA prefers prospects obtain a lead investor before applying to Gopher Angels. Startups should have demonstrated market validation (beyond a plan): working prototype, beta testing and/or revenue generating model. Co-Founders of the group, David and Sara Russick, previously invented Bagster, a fabric trash bag that acted as a portable dumpster. They ultimately sold that business to Waste Management. Gopher Angels invested $20 million in its first four years.
