Formed January of 2006, Greenhouse Capital Partners is a Sausalito, Calif.-based seed stage venture fund with a primary focus on early stage cleantech opportunities and alternative energy innovations. The Fund's principals are currently reviewing opportunities in the solar, biomass, hydrogen, recycled plastics and other emerging growth markets. Managing Partner, Peter D. Henig, currently sits on the Board of Directors of InsideView and the Board of Advisors of PVI Solutions. General Partner Michael Schwab is the son of famed brokerage entrepreneur Charles Schwab. Greenhouse has invested a total of $45.5 million across seven early stage startups. The firm's typical investment ranges from between $250,000 to $1 million. The firm is willing to invest small amounts of capital early on, in the gap between angels and traditional VCs, and then provide follow-on capital based on momentum and success. The firm looks for companies with revenue at $3-30M.
