HBC Investments is a family office-affiliated private equity investor. The firm is looking to acquire companies in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in the $10mm - $50mm range of enterprise value. Family patriarch Jim Hoak founded and currently serves as Chairman of Hoak Media Corporation, an owner and operator of 27 broadcast television stations in 9 markets. In 1971, Mr. Hoak co-founded and served as Chief Executive Officer of Heritage Communications, which was sold to Tele-Communications, Inc. for $1.6 billion. Mr. Hoak is currently a Life Trustee for The Hockaday School, as well as a member of the Executive Board of Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business. HBC is open to all forms of investments -- from mezzanine to minority equity to control equity -- in growth-oriented middle-market companies looking to recapitalize, execute an ownership buyout or fund a growth initiative. HBC targets major sectors of the economy, including retail, consumer products, manufacturing, energy and media, and its typical investment ranges from $10 million to $50 million per transaction.
