Founded in 2001, Hammersmith Ventures is an investment company whose primary focus is on maximizing the value of U.S. patents through two different business models. This first is through identifying target markets vulnerable to disruption through the practical application of patented technologies and/or business methods. The second is through identifying potential instances of patent infringement and executing a strategy for maximizing the value of the IP portfolio through the selective application of litigation and/or licensing agreements. The firm focuses on the quality and the quantity of the US patents owned by the investment candidate, the quantifiable size of the target market(s) covered by the IP, the amount of potential ongoing infringement, the observability and detectability of the key claims and the originality and non-obviousness of the innovations covered.
