HOLT Ventures is an investment arm within HOLT CAT, the largest Caterpillar tractor and engine dealer in the United States. Founded by the Holt family, whose legacy traces back to the early 1900s when Benjamin Holt invented the track-type tractor (later renamed the Caterpillar), the firm aims to invest in new technologies and companies focused on solving challenges in the industrial and manufacturing industries. In March 2017, Holt Ventures recently hosted the Industrial Technology Pitch Competition to select 15 startups to be included in their initial fund. CEO Peter Holt represents the fifth generation of the Holt family business. The firm is a limited partner in several VC funds.
