Founded in early 2012 by Y Combinator Partners Garry Tan and Harjeet Taggar and Reddit Inc. co-founder Alexis Ohanian, Initialized Capital is a San Francisco-based early-stage venture capital firm with $3.2 billion under management and more than 175 companies in the active portfolio. The fund looks to invest in early-stage companies of all sectors across the U.S. Initialized Capital is open to all companies, regardless of whether they have been part of the Y Combinator program or not. The venture capital firm previously raised $7 million, and has invested in 70 companies since inception. Initialized raised (July 2017) $125 million for its third fund, according to an SEC filing. In August 2013, the firm raised $39.15 million for its second fund.
