InnoVentures Capital Partners is the manager of the UTFC family of funds located in Salt Lake City, Utah. IVCP invests in small companies throughout the region by providing subordinated debt to start-up and growing businesses. The company fills a niche in the Utah venture capital network providing up to $1,000,000 to entrepreneurial companies. InnoVentures invests in companies throughout Utah and the neighboring states. The firm focuses on strong businesses that have too little collateral or operating history for traditional banks but have good potential for growth. InnoVentures acts as a catalyst in bridging Utah's capital gap by working as partners with venture capital firms, banks, and other investor groups to leverage its funds to increase the amount of private financing that developing businesses receive. InnoVentures typically invests up to $300,000 in a first time disbursement and provides subordinated debt financing up to $500,000. To ensure the long-term success of the companies it finances, InnoVentures monitors each company's progress and offers technical assistance in critical areas of business management. The firm also offers small business loans from $50,000 to $250,000, with loan terms now as long as 7 years and interest rates as low as 8% (origination fee of 2%). IVCP has more than $30,000,000 in small business loans since 2001.
