Invest Detroit Ventures invests in high tech and high growth early-stage companies across Michigan. Invest Detroit is a nonprofit lender, investor, and partner that supports business and real estate projects that will ignite economic growth. Invest Detroit Ventures is committed to supporting the entrepreneurial ecosystem with capital, on-going mentorship, and community engagement. The team is committed to growing a robust tech community in Detroit and throughout Michigan, and is collectively focused on implementing an investment strategy that is inclusive and supportive of minority, immigrant, and women entrepreneurs. The firm operates three different funds. The First Capital Fund is a Pre-Seed fund that provides 'genesis' funds to new technology companies at the earliest stages of commercialization in the State of Michigan. The program will provide up to $150K through quick, flexible financial instruments. The First Step Fund is an industry-agnostic early to mid Seed investment fund putting capital to work in emerging high-growth businesses in Michigan. This fund deploys up to $50,000 in initial investments with follow-on capacity of $100,000 for qualifying companies. Invest Detroit Ventures partners with institutional funds and angel investors for investment rounds sized between $150,000 and $500,000. The Detroit Innovate Fund is an early-stage venture capital fund focused on high-tech companies in Michigan. Initial investments range from $100,000-$250,000 in Series Seed and Series A financings with follow-on capital available. Invest Detroit Ventures has deployed $329 million and leveraged $2.3 billion.
