Jamie McCourt's company, Jamie Enterprises, principally invests in high-value real estate, biotechnology ventures, and technology start-ups. McCourt was an early stage investor in ZipCar, now the nation's largest peer-to-peer car sharing service. More recently, she was one of the first investors in Kite Pharma, a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company that went public in record time, and Yo, the push notification system that has taken Silicon Valley by storm. McCourt (nee Luskin; born December 5, 1953) has served as the United States Ambassador to the French Republic and Principality of Monaco. She became the highest-ranking woman in Major League Baseball, appointed first as vice chairman of the Dodgers in 2004, then President in 2005, and finally CEO in 2009. In 2013, she bought a 22-acre vineyard estate in Napa Valley, California Rutherford region for $11.25 million with the intention of both living there part-time and continuing to produce the property's wine.
