Founded in 1993, KCA Partners is a San Francisco-based private equity firm that works with a limited number of platform companies in order to devote both the operational and financial resources necessary for lower middle market companies to achieve their potential. The firm targets initial equity investments of $3 million to $15 million in new platform investments. KCA will sponsor larger transactions by co-investing with its limited partners or other investor groups. KCA will commit additional equity capital for add-on acquisitions or other strategic financing needs as opportunities arise. KCA targets companies with revenue of $15 million or more and an EBITDA of $3 million or more. KCA targets companies in the following industries: Energy Efficiency (e.g., lighting, HVAC, demand response, sensors, meters, controls); Environmental Equipment and Services (e.g., recycling, water filtration, test and treatment, air pollution control, pumps, valves); Green Products and Services (e.g., building materials, construction and system automation, consumer products); Infrastructure Products and Services (e.g., wastewater, flow control, road or bridge maintenance, safety, inspection); Security Products and Services (e.g., access control, network video and analytics, systems integration); Specialty Transportation and Logistics (e.g., frozen distribution, expedited freight, hazmat transportation, intermodal, rail); Consumer Healthcare; and Components utilized in energy efficient lighting, retail signage and display, trade show and theatrical rigging. The firm's primary geographic focus is the U.S. and Canada, but will consider international companies for add-on businesses.
