Seth Andrew Klarman (born May 21, 1957) is an American billionaire investor, hedge fund manager, and author. He is a proponent of value investing. He is the chief executive and portfolio manager of the Baupost Group, a Boston-based private investment partnership he founded in 1982. Klarman is estimated to be worth approximately $1.5B. Klarman is known to have invested his personal net worth in other hedge fund managers such as Abrams Capital and Slate Path Capital. Klarman owns Klaravich Stables Inc. and has been racing horses with William Lawrence since 2006. Their horse, Cloud Computing, won the 2017 Preakness Stakes.
