Formed in 2005, KSL Capital Partners, LLC is a private equity firm that makes investments in travel and leisure businesses, including the hospitality, recreation, clubs, real estate and travel services sectors. With over $23 billion in assets under management, KSL focuses on acquisitions of historically under-performing or under-capitalized businesses and strives to unlock 'hidden value' by re-envisioning and repositioning these enterprises. The firm has recently organized KSL Capital Partners International to focus on opportunities abroad. KSL's strategy involves four-critical elements: (i) expanding each enterprise by enhancing the existing revenue base; (ii) creating new business opportunities; (iii) improving operating efficiencies; and (iv) optimizing the value of associated real estate. While its targeted minimum equity requirement for the fund is $25 million, because of the nature of its portfolio companies, related entities and its desire to grow these businesses, no transaction is too small to execute. The firm has the ability to commit up to $400 million of equity in any one transaction. Since 2005, KSL has raised four private equity funds and two credit funds with approximately $9 billion in equity commitments.
