Founded in 2015 by Jim Demetriades, Kairos Ventures invests in early, often during the formative stages of a company, and works closely with the world's leading scientist to commercialize their technologies. Depending on the stage of development and the capital requirements of each venture, typical investments are between $150,000 and $20 million in companies with a focus in hard sciences. In addition to providing early-stage capital, the firm leverages their expertise and network of professionals specializing in all disciplines required to build a successful company, including legal, finance, marketing, operations, business development and HR. The firm announced (June 2013) the close of its third fund with capital commitments of $58 million. Since its inception, Kairos has invested in over 55 companies. Fund III has made 27 investments.
