Launchpad Venture Group is a Boston-based angel investment group that provides funding to early-stage technology companies. The group has over 175 active investors, with members coming from a variety of backgrounds and professions, including the technology, financial and service communities. Since 2001, Launchpad members have invested over $125 million in more than 150 startups. Launchpad will typically invest between $250K-$750K, and work with the company to proceed to the next stage. For Launchpad to achieve a high return on its investment, a prospective company must sell to potential markets of $100M+, and the group expects its portfolio companies to become market leaders with 30%+ market share within five to seven years. Launchpad meets on the second Wednesday of each month in Newton, MA, usually reviewing two company presentations. The group's members are well versed in multiple industries, including: Enterprise Software, Technical Software, Mobile Technologies, Medical Informatics, Medical Instrumentation, Chip Technology, General Instrumentation, Telecom, and Financial Services. Each year the group invests $8-10M in approximately 30-40 rounds of financing.
