Leonard Holding Company is a third generation, family-owned business. It is owned by the eight grandchildren of its founder, Al Leonard and his wife, Helen. It was established in 1994 as the parent company to a family of businesses. The Leonard Holding Company owns 100% of Surlean Foods, as well as parts of many real estate ventures and investments in other companies. It also oversees the distribution of charitable contributions to many area organizations and scholarships to well deserving children and grandchildren of employees. Neal Leonard is the CEO of the holding company while his brother Clayton Leonard was the president of New Earth for 20 years, and his cousin Daryl Scott is President of Surlean Foods. Neal is currently serving on the Boards of Jungle Disk, a former division of Rackspace (RXT: Nasdaq), History Maker Homes in Dallas, TX, and North American Meat Institute (NAMI).
