Louisiana Economic Development (LED) is committed to assisting companies who want to locate, expand, grow or maintain a presence in Louisiana. The organization does so through several programs including the Venture Capital Co-Investment Program. The program provides for a co-investment in a Louisiana business of up to 1/4 of the round of investment, but not more than $500,000, with any qualified venture capital fund with at least $7.5 million in private capital. LED also established a Venture Capital Match program, which invests in venture capital funds with a minimum of $5,000,000 of privately raised capital. The venture capital fund may be from outside of Louisiana. Other services provided by LED include the Small and Emerging Business Development Program, Bonding Assistance Program, Microenterprise Development Program, Angel Investor Tax Credit, and Urban Entrepreneur Partnership. To qualify, a company must first commit to creating a net of at least 15 new, permanent manufacturing jobs, or a net of at least 50 new, permanent service-related jobs.
