Louisiana Fund I is an early stage venture capital fund focused on the identification of investment opportunities emanating from research universities and other organizations in the state of Louisiana. Louisiana universities spend over $500 million annually on research in the areas of interest to LFI. Joseph F. Lovett, whose prior experience in biotechnology and medical device venture capital is extensive, manages the fund. Prior to his involvement with LFI, Mr. Lovett was a founding general partner with Medical Science Partners, a fund similar to LFI, in partnership with Harvard University.
