Founded in 2000, Lux Capital Management is a research-driven investment firm focused on de novo, seed and early stage investments in the physical and life sciences. Lux takes an active role in helping entrepreneurs build successful businesses in high growth sectors. The investment team has built over 20 companies from scratch. The firm's investments can range from as little as $50,000 to start a new venture to $50 million over a company's life cycle. Lux announced April of 2015 it had closed Lux Ventures IV, L.P., a $350 million fund, to invest in early-stage, futuristic science and technology ventures. The fund was oversubscribed from the firm's initial target of $245 million and brings the firm's total capital under management to $2.4 billion. Over the past two decades, Lux has expanded from our New York City roots to Silicon Valley, and built a $5 billion AUM firm of more than 30 full-time professionals, with a wide spectrum of technical backgrounds and the versatility to invest at any stage, from $100,000 to $100 million.
