McRae investments is s a private investment firm established in 1994 to exclusively manage the assets of Richard D. McRae Jr. and his family. Today the firm is actively managed by the 4th generation family members David M. McRae and Richard D. McRae III who are Managing General Partners of McRae investments. McRae investments engages in a broad range of investment activities and has the flexibility to invest in a wide variety of asset classes. McRae investments has offices in Jackson, Mississippi and Nashville, Tennessee. Samuel Proctor McRae founded McRae's Department Stores in 1902 in a 1500 square foot store on Capitol Street in downtown Jackson, Mississippi. In 1994, McRae's sold to what ultimately became the Saks Department Store Group thus ending three generations of Family ownership. Since its inception, the Selby & Richard McRae Foundation has donated over $35 million in charitable gifts and given to over 500 organizations.
