Founded in 2016, Mendoza Ventures is a venture capital firm based in Boston, Massachusetts. The firm seeks to make minority investments in seed-stage, early-stage and later-stage companies. The firm prefers to invest in software, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity and Fintech sectors. The firm provides an actively managed approach to venture capital by investing in areas where they have industry expertise, companies with early revenue, a clear value proposition to a market and using a proven due diligence model. Mendoza Ventures is both minority and woman owned and also the first latinX founded venture fund on the east coast. Mendoza announced (January 2023) that it achieved a first close on its third fund. The $100M fund will invest in early growth stage startups with a focus on diverse teams. The initial close was led by Bank of America, including Grasshopper Bank and other investors. The firm limits the active portfolio to 12-15 companies.
