MidCoast Capital is a merchant bank that operates as an investor and originator of investment opportunities for wealthy families and institutions, and an advisor to companies. The firm seeks to make investments in and purchase middle-market buyouts; recapitalizations; and established companies with growth potential. In general, MidCoast considers businesses in the Mid-Atlantic region that have already achieved significant market acceptance and that have the potential to grow more rapidly than their overall industry average. The firm's desired investment range is from $20 million to $75 million in enterprise value. MidCoast is primarily interested in businesses that consistently produce a minimum of $2 million of EBIT annually. The firm also purchases secondary interests in a wide range of private equity funds and secondary interests in middle-market operating companies. The Principals of MidCoast Capital are experienced entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and investment bankers who have accumulated nearly a century of valuable experience and who have managed more than $90 million of venture capital -- including the growth of a major regional investment-banking firm. The Principals of MidCoast Capital have invested in more than 50 companies.
