Anil Kumar is the managing partner of Mindspan LLC, a personal investment and advisory firm with interests in healthcare, education and technology. Mindspan and Mr. Kumar have invested in approximately 100 early-stage ventures in software and services. Prior to this, he was Senior Partner and Chairman of the Asia Center at McKinsey & Company, Inc. based in Silicon Valley, New York, and New Delhi. In 1998 Anil created and led the Internet consulting practice at McKinsey and Company, which grew to represent a quarter of the firm's business worldwide. Additionally, he founded McKinsey's consulting practice in three other areas: outsourcing and offshoring, which spearheaded India's remote services revolution, business-building (intrapreneurship), and globalization. He was also instrumental in founding and growing McKinsey & Company in both Silicon Valley and India. In 1997 Anil co-founded the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad, India, today ranked among the top 15 business schools in the world.
