The Mitchell Family Office was founded in 2015 by Mark Mitchell - a serial entrepreneur who started his first business at the age of 15, growing his lawn service business to more than $50,000/yr in revenue. Mark was also the founder of U.S. Medical Management (USMM), Grace Hospice, Pinnacle Senior Care and The Home DME, all providing an integrated continuum of home-based services to more than 50,000 patients annually. In 2014, Mark sold his interest in USMM to Centene Corporation (NYSE: CNC) and continued to direct all operations as CEO until he departed in 2015. With a passion for business building and a desire to create lasting impact, Mark created the Mitchell Family Office as a platform to serve future generations. Since its founding, MFO has invested in over twenty companies across various industries. In 2018, Mark also co-founded Lorient Capital, a lower-middle market healthcare private equity company. Mark remained the largest owner and investor until 2022, when he sold his interests. The Mitchell Family Office has a primary emphasis on healthcare-related investments with a secondary focus on other sectors like automotive, commercial & industrial, business services, and digital commerce. The firm seeks out companies with a minimum EBITDA of $3 million, with preference for $5 million to $20 million at entry. Additionally, the Mitchell Family Office has been investing in real estate since the 1980s, and continuously evaluates opportunities across office, mixed use, senior housing, and others.
