Founded in 2002, NDI is a leading venture capital and commercialization firm that focuses on innovative neurodevice technologies to address significant unmet health conditions. NDI leverages its platform of innovative technologies to commercialize an extensive pipeline of neurotech opportunities, creating high-growth portfolio companies. In April 2008, NDI sold its first portfolio company to Medtronic Inc. for $42 million, returning over 150 times the original investment back to investors. NDI maintains a proprietary technology platform of neurodevices consisting of implantable pulse generators, external pulse generators, leads, surgical deployment tools, external programmers, and patient controllers that can be applied to many different therapeutic applications or adapted for new devices. Since 2008, the NDI Healthcare Fund and its portfolio companies have raised $26 million, including $17 million in private equity and another $9 million in grants and loans from sources such as the National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Defense, and the State of Ohio€™s Third Frontier Program.
