Narya is a thesis-driven, early-stage venture capital firm that invests long term capital in people who use technology to solve significant challenges. The firm plans to raise a total of $125 million, which will be used to invest in tech startups in under-served cities such as Salt Lake City, Atlanta and Raleigh-Durham. Narya will focus on companies within life sciences, aerospace and defense and robotics, as well as commercializing technologies developed at research institutions, and will make investments in the range of $5 million to $10 million. J.D. Vance, founder of Narya, is the bestselling author of Hillbilly Elegy and named the firm after one of the rings in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings.
