New York Angels is an independent consortium of individual accredited angel investors. New York Angels' mission is to provide opportunities for its members to obtain outstanding financial returns by investing in early-stage technology and new media companies and accelerating them to market leadership. NYA's members are a group of 130 business leaders from many fields who work collaboratively, and with high levels of professional standards, to make investments in start-ups with very high growth potential. Members of the group have invested in more than 245 companies since 2003, committing more than $100 million in capital. The group provides seed and early-stage capital in the range of $100,000 - $1 million, an investment range not generally served by venture capital funds. The firm prefers to make investments in companies that are based between Boston and Washington D.C., but will consider opportunities in other areas in extraordinary circumstances. New York Angels is not a fund and does not invest as a group. The group's members collaborate on due diligence but make individual investment decisions.
